Hand Drawn, Acid and Grind
2012

This was another one of those damaged panels that we had to re-create and match to its other half. As with anything using acid we always advise if you want the new one to match we should do them as a pair as the acid treatment is based on strength and time, so if we don't know how the original was created we can only try our best to match. This job involved a rubbing (just like you used to do at school) then applying vinyl and cutting out the pattern which is time consuming and intricate. Then we dip the panel in acid for a period of time to get the depth required and once that process is complete we hand grind the negative area. Looks a treat.
